Can you believe it’s been a year since we launched the Truant Screenplay Competition? We were blown away by the calibre of entries and the compelling ideas and voices from so many emerging horror, science fiction and thriller screenwriters!
While we are eager to see what our talented Aussie genre writers have been working on, Truant have elected to take a break this year to allow ALE to launch their new competition. If you have a feature script in the family / kids space, ALE will share details on their competition for Australian writers (excluding AL employees) over the next few months.
In case you missed it, we are so proud that Truant’s 2019 competition winner from D.J. McPherson, His Name Is Jeremiah, was picked up by Mark Williams, the co-creator/producer of Netflix’s Ozark. We wish D.J. all the best, and are excited to see how the project develops.
